Introduction

The problem of the
environment is so grown that it cannot be bypassed no matter what scientists
do, no matter what they discuss. It penetrates all the spheres of economies in
all countries of the world.

The connection between
sport and sustainable development grow from health which benefits from physical
exercise. Sports, sustainable development and the environment are increasingly
important in the work of the United Nations and UNEP - the United Nations
Environment Program.

Sport is closely
related to natural health as physical exercise is a necessary part of healthy
lifestyle. A healthy environment, on the other hand, is essential for healthy
sports, and for many athletes, it is this closeness to nature that motivates
and inspires. An unhealthy environment discourages people from playing sports
and can undermine the viability of a sporting venue or sporting activities
itself.

The topic was chosen
for the research since it was interesting to determine how the strategies of
sustainable development are applied to sport industries.

The relevance of the
topic is determined by the specific of sport as a mean of healthy lifestyle.

The significance of
the topic defines the interest which it will rise in readers from sport
companies and economic institutions.

The object of the paper is international
sporting goods manufacturers that have implemented sustainable development
strategies in their current activities.
The subject of the study is sustainable development
strategies applied by the sporting goods manufacturers on foreign developed and
developing markets. The work is conducted with the goal to define

1.1 Theories on Sustainable
Development Strategies of international companies. At the end of the XX century, against the
background of global economic development, the world community has begun to
actively highlight the problems that arose as a result of human socio-economic
and ecological activity such as limited natural resources, environmental
pollution, poverty and social inequality. Scientific and technological progress
has also caused terrible damage to the natural environment. These social and
mostly environmental concerns stimulated a new mode of thinking about economic
and human development and prepared the way for sustainable development as an
alternative to unlimited economic growth. The current understanding of
sustainable development was established in 1983 when the UN created the World
Commission on Environment and Development, later called the Brundtland
Commission. In 1987, the Brundtland commission released the «Our Common Future»
report, which addressed to governments, private enterprise, from a one-person
business to a multinational company, but the first and foremost message was
